How to Estimate Your Debris Volume
Method 1: The Pickup Truck Rule
A standard full-size pickup truck bed holds about 2 cubic yards of debris. Estimate how many truckloads you'd need:
- • 5-yard bin = ~2 pickup truck loads
- • 10-yard bin = ~4 pickup truck loads
- • 15-yard bin = ~6 pickup truck loads
- • 20-yard bin = ~8 pickup truck loads
Method 2: Room-by-Room Estimate
For cleanouts, estimate based on the rooms you're clearing:
